Brenda Poplin

Brenda Burris Poplin, 80, of Norwood, passed away, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 21, 2023 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Rev. Mary Hatley will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Edwards Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00PM. 

Mrs. Poplin was born on August 17, 1942 in Stanly County to the late Henry Frank and Mary Agnes Talbert Burris. She was a 1960 Aquadale High School graduate and a faithful member at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. She retired from Stanly County Schools having worked at South Stanly Middle School and South Stanly High School in the cafeteria.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ray Poplin; one brother, Harlon Burris; and sister, Jean Easley

She is survived by her son, Danny Ray Poplin and wife Julie; daughters: Tammy Poplin and Suzanne Poplin, all of Norwood; brother: Jimmy Burris of Thomasville; sister: Edith Eudy of Norwood; two grandchildren: D.J and Presley Poplin; and her faithful canine companion, Buddy
