James Branson Webb, 80, of Mt. Gilead, surrounded by his loving family, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 7, 2019, at First Health Hospice House in Pinehurst, NC.
A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Gilead. Jim Kiser will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
Branson was born in Wadeville, to the late William Branson and Elgie Sedberry Webb. He worked many years as a route salesman. He loved his family especially his beautiful granddaughters and his great-grandson. He enjoyed golf, fishing, Duke Basketball, going to Yard sales, and cooking. He will be remembered for his chicken and dumplings and his chocolate pie. He never met a stranger and loved spending time talking to people. He will be missed by his dog, Fritz.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Morris and husband Rodney of Troy; granddaughters: Ashley Jones and husband, Daniel of Mt. Gilead and Emily Morris and friend Will of Greensboro; great-grandson, Greylon and former spouse, Ann Bates of Mt. Gilead.
