Bobby Waldroup

Robert Allen Waldroup, 61, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024 at his home, in the arms of his loving wife. 

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM prior to the service.

Mr. Waldroup was born on October 26, 1963 in Newport News, VA to the late Bill Waldroup and Bobbie Sue Allison Waldroup, who survives. He worked as a union foreman for Shambaugh & Sons for many years. Robert was a wonderful and faithful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a giving man and had a heart of gold. Whenever family, friends, or neighbors needed something, he was always there to help. He was also funny and loved to have a good time. He enjoyed sitting by his fire pit and listening to music with his family and friends. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jennifer Potter Waldroup of the home; four sons: Brandon Waldroup, Scott Waldroup, Justin Waldroup, and Cameron Waldroup; seven grandchildren: Robert Joseph, Scott Jr., Connor, Eli, Austin, Emma, and Christian; one great-granddaughter: Lia Caroline Waldroup; one sister: Linda Sue; a special adopted daughter, Leanna Blalock; many nieces and nephews; and his special canine companion, Beasley.
