Billie Rose Gaddy

Billie Rose Mauldin Gaddy 87 of Mt. Gilead died early Saturday Morning, February 1, 2020 at her home.

Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, February 3, 2020 at Sharon Cemetery.  Rev. Terry Burris will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service until 4:30 at the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead.  Billie Rose will lie in state at Edwards Funeral Home of Mt. Gilead from 10:00AM until 2:00PM Monday where friends are welcome to pay their respects.

Billie Rose was born February 21, 1932 in Stanly County to the late James David and Otis Lowder Mauldin. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead.

She was the Matriarch of her family. A loving Mother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and sharing her gift with others. Being a farmer’s wife she understood the value of hard work and patience a trait that will live long after her in her family. In addition to her family she especially enjoyed spending time with her friends and the exercise class at First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Ed Gaddy November 24, 2018.

She is survived by two daughters, Melanie Gaddy Fleming and husband Glenn and Sharon Gaddy Thompson and husband Dale all of Mt. Gilead. One daughter-in-law Tracy Gaddy of Albemarle. Five Grandchildren, Justin, Cory, Katie, Thomas and Derek. Five Great-Grandchildren, Trenton, Ella Rose, Ivy, Eli and Camden. Also surviving is her faithful  canine companion Timmie.

She was preceded in death by her son Allen Gaddy, her daughter Tammy Gaddy Whitley, and her grandson Ben Thompson.
