William “Bill” McEwan, 72, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away on December 9, 2024. Born on February 26, 1952, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to the late Robert and Helen McEwan. Bill was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War who later found joy and companionship in his loyal service dog, Dreyfus.
Bill deeply loved his daughters, Devon Dignan (Mike) of Jacksonville, Florida and Savanna Rankin (Kellen) of Albemarle, NC. Bill was the proud Grandpa to 6 boys, Trendan, Crowder, Sully, Tom, Yates, and Mac.
Bill is survived by his siblings; Patricia M. Lisenby, B.J. Lawson, and Jon T. McEwan.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Robert A. McEwan Jr., Richard L. McEwan and a special nephew, Derreck Huneycutt.
He also treasured the friendships and connections he built in the mountains of Tennessee, where he was known for his kind heart and sense of community.
He will be greatly missed, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
A burial at the Mountain Home National Cemetery and celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date
