Betty Lambert

Betty Katherine Dennis Lambert, 92, of Albemarle passed away Thursday night, September 16, 2021 at The Taylor House in Albemarle.  

The family will welcome friends Tuesday evening,  September 21, 2021, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.  

Betty was born April 28, 1929 in Stanly County to the late Silas Pritchard and Novella Efird Dennis.  She was a graduate of Queens College. Betty retired after 53 years of service from Southeastern Materials, a company started by her father in 1955 that was then known as Dennis Concrete. 

She had been a member of Canton Baptist Church and at her death was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church.  Betty was active in Beta Sigma Phi, Home Extension Club and the Red Hat Society.  “Grammy”, as she was affectionately known, was an amazing cook. She enjoyed having her entire family (along with their friends) come on Sundays and enjoy a homemade dinner. Even when she was unable to stand at the stove, she pulled up her chair and finished the meal sitting down. The family will cherish her great recipes and memories forever. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Lambert;  two sons, Jerry James Lambert and Mark Allen Lambert; grandson, James Willhoit; brother, Pritchard Dennis.

She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Willhoit (Jack) of Lexington, SC, Penny Morton (Jack) of Albemarle and son, Chris Lambert (Leslie) of Norwood; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Tony Dennis (Kay) and sister in law, Linda Dennis all of Albemarle;  brother and sister in law, Larry and Judy Lambert.
