Rebecca Anne “Becky” Crump Hearne 84 of Mt. Gilead died peacefully Saturday afternoon, June 3, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church, Mt. Gilead. Rev. Chip McAulay will officiate and interment will follow at Sharon Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs Hearne will lie in state Tuesday Afternoon from 2:00 until 5:00 at Edwards Funeral Home of Mt. Gilead.
Becky was born July 7, 1938 in Richmond County to the late Jack and Doris Tedder Crump. She was a 1956 graduate of Mt. Gilead High School and attended Greensboro Women's College.She retired after 44 years as office manager of Jacob’s Creek Stone Company.She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, Mt. Gilead where she served in numerous roles including Children's Sunday School Teacher.
Becky was an accomplished artist painting beautiful oil paintings. She enjoyed many years as a student at Montgomery County Community College Art Classes and later with her friends painting at the Montgomery County Senior Center.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years George Hearne, her daughter Laura Hearne Feldman and husband Howard and son Scott Hearne and wife Donna and grandson Daniel Feldman, Step Granddaughter Summer King Foerman and husband Ryan Foerman, and step great grandchildren Sawyer, Redding and Mason Foerman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Betty Crump Warner.
