Barbara Burris

Barbara Lisk Burris, 81, of Norwood, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Atrium Health in Albemarle.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Bethlehem Baptist Church. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Rev. Lowell Brown will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burris was born on August 11, 1943 in Stanly County to the late Travis and Lola Morton Lisk. She was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed cross stitching and jigsaw puzzles. She will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, Nana, and GiGi.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Bill Lisk, James Lisk, Travis Lisk Jr.,Stella Caudle, Arlene Blalock, James Robert Furr, and Brenda Mabry.

She is survived by her loving  husband of 65 years, Johnny ’J.R’. Burris; children: Pat Pope (Lloyd)  of Norwood and Michael Burris (Tammy) of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren: Kyle Pope, Chase Pope (Amanda), Madison Burzlaff (Daniel), and Kayla Wainer (Joe); five great-grandchildren: Addison, Preston, Ella, Nathan, and Aydan; siblings: Nannie Gray, Eugene Lisk, Arthur Lisk, and Emily Kiser. 

Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
