Barbara Britt

Barbara Mabry Britt, 75, of Asheboro, formerly of Mount Gilead,  passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023 surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home.

 Funeral services will be held on Sunday September 17, 2023 at 3pm at Hamer Creek Baptist Church in Mount Gilead. The Rev. Jerry Mabry will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. 

Barbara was born February 3, 1948 in Montgomery County to the late Eugene and Anna Lois Roberts Mabry. She was a graduate of West Montgomery High School. She was employed with Gilead Manufacturing before taking a job with ALCOA. She worked 25 years there before retiring. 

Barbara loved the simple things in life like a hot cup of coffee sitting by the lake admiring its beauty. She loved plants, flowers, nature and animals. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Above all, her Faith in Jesus stood strong throughout her life and she knew she would be spending Eternity with him in Heaven. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Lee Britt and brother Terry Mabry. 

She is survived by her children, Tanya O’Quinn(Danny), Libby Hefner(Tony) and Chris Britt(Lisa); grandchildren, Alyshia and Daniel O’Quinn; Olivia, Claire and Ava Britt; Jessica Fowler(Jason); great grandchildren Aaliyah Grace O’Quinn; Dawson and Lucas Fowler; sister Sandy Mabry Lewis; sister in law, Patricia Mabry.
