Ann Preslar

Andrea “Ann” Broome Preslar 75 of Norwood died Monday Afternoon, May 10, 2021 at Atrium Stanly.

A Memorial Servies will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 14, 2021 at Memorial Baptist Church. Rev.Josh Phillips and Rev. Daniel Flynn will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ann was born August 20, 1945 in Anson County to the late George and Jennie Williams Broome. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She worked for many years in textiles, but the joy of her life was the years she spent in childcare. Over many years she cared for 26 children in her home and loved each one as her own.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years Layton “Bleachy” Preslar Jr. of the home. Two daughters, Donna Preslar Hathcock (Rick) of Norwood and Sharon Preslar of Shalotte.  One sister, Daphne Thomas of Stanley. Four grandchildren, Sommer Hathcock Morgan (Adam), Richard Seth Hathcock, Christopher Lee (Kristen) and A.J. Baskins (Savanna). Nine great-grandchildren, Layton, Bryson, Lucy, Jatelynne, Maleah, Kenna, Cylus, Qwinntin and Serenity. She was also Godmother to Drayton and Camden Diggs.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Memorials may be made to Memorial Baptist Church, Children’s Ministry, 873 Pee Dee Avenue, Norwood, NC  28128.
