Alberta McSwain

Alberta Brock McSwain, 95,  of Norwood passed away Wednesday evening, January 19, 2022 at Union County Hospice.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Mary  Hatley will officiate.  Mrs. McSwain will lie in state, Saturday evening, January 22, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood, from 2:00PM until 5:00PM.  

Mrs. McSwain was born December 17, 1926 in Rowan County to the late Frank and Grace Marks Brock.  She was a retiree of Collins & Aikman of Norwood and a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Melvin McSwain; brothers, Bobby, Albert and Alvie Brock; sister, Opal Burris.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Almond (Ricky) and Kathy Frick(Charles) both of Norwood; son, Gerald McSwain(Juanita) of Norwood; grandchildren, Diane Eudy(Terry), Stacy Hicks(Channing), Keri Shaver(Bobby), Brett Frick, Chris Almond(Kimberly) and Erin Whitley(Brantley); great grandchildren, Garrett (Taylor), Gage, Hayden, Charlie, Kolbie, Addison, Ross, Taylor, Terry, Ava, Gavin and Livvie; great-great granddaughter, Harlie.; sisters, Margie Seawell of New London, Gracie Hatcher of Randleman and Lucille Bost of Denton.
