Adam Horton

Jonathan Adam Horton, 40, of New York, NY, passed away on November 14, 2022 in New York.

Adam was born in Charlotte, NC to Ann and Kendall Horton on April 14, 1982 where he grew up in Norwood, NC.  During his childhood, he enjoyed spending time aggravating his older brothers and fishing with his grandmother.  He loved swimming and all water activities. Adam moved to New York in his thirties and fell in love with “city life.”  He was employed as a courier.  He enjoyed visits from Stanly County natives, and loved being their personal tour guide.  

Adam is preceded in death by his father, Kendall Horton,  paternal grandparents Floyd and Geraldine Horton, and maternal grandparents Johnny and Doris Sides.

Adam is survived by his brothers Kent (Amanda) and Jeff (Holly) Horton;  his mother, Ann Horton, his nephews, Joston, Easton, Maxton, Riley, Triston Horton, and his nieces Samantha Allman, Ashley, and Anniston Horton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, November 26, 2022 with Rev. Hannah Barlow officiating at Randall’s United Methodist Church in Norwood, NC.  Burial will immediately follow.  The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood, NC on Friday evening, November 25, 2022 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.

Memorials may be given to Stanly County Christian Ministries, P. O. Box 58, Albemarle NC 28002.
