Sonny Beachum

Nezer Wall ‘Sonny’ Beachum, 82, of Ansonville, died Wednesday March 6, 2019 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Karl Randall will officiate and burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Sonny was born January 27, 1937 in Anson County to the late Nezer and Sadie Hildreth Beachum. He was the owner of N.W. “Sonny” Beachum Classic Car Museum in Ansonville and the former owner of Beachum Trucking and Beachum and Lee Ford in Wadesboro.

He is survived by his wife Sherry Ackerman Beachum of the home. One son Tracy Wall Beachum (Ronda) and one daughter Kathy Beachum Short (Neal) all of Ansonville. Three brothers Terry Beachum (Susan) and George Beachum (Betty) all of Ansonville and Gene Beachum of Santee, SC. Five Grandchildren Anna, Travis and Trent Beachum, Jesse and Samuel Short. One step-daughter Jamie Martin of Norwood and one step-grandson Dillon Martin.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Bob and Arvle Beachum , Ruby Little and Lillian Kanipe and a step-son Wayne Shankle.
