Roy Lee Helms, Jr.

Roy Lee Helms, Jr. 62 of Oakboro died Tuesday Evening, March 13, 2018 at his home.

His Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, March 16, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Chip Alsobrooks will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

He was born May 14, 1955 in Stanly County to Roy Lee Helms, Sr. and the late Shelby Jean Kennedy Freeman. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired Truck Driver.

He is survived by his Father and Step-Mother, Roy Lee and Margie Elwood Helms of Oakboro. His Step-Father Danny Freeman of Oakboro. His brother Jody Helms (Sara) of Oakboro. Two half-sisters, Brenda Helms Huneycutt (Tim) and Michelle Freeman Sides (Stan) all of Oakboro. Nieces and Nephews.
