Roy Lee Barbee

Roy Lee Barbee, 94, passed away early Monday October 30, 2017 at Bethany Woods Nursing and rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be held on Friday November 3, 2017 at 2:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Thomas Andrufski will officiate and burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Barbee was born on September 13, 1923 in Stanly County to the late Jonah and Sarah Jane Sides Barbee. He was retired from American Efird and after retirement, continued to work at Food Lion. He was a Church of God member.

His son will always cherish the wonderful memories of their summer vacations and Christmas celebrations.

Mr. Barbee was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Morgan Barbee; one son John P. Barbee; and numerous brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his son, Rick Barbee (Linda Lyerly) of Albemarle; Seven grandchildren and thirteen great- grandchildren; and brothers and sisters.
