Ronald Oneil Watkins

Robert Oneil Watkins, aka ‘Drag’ Ronnie, was born May 2, 1956 in Stanly County to Leon and Johnsie B. Watkins. He attended South Stanly High School. Ronnie was a member of First Baptist Church.

 Drag was lots of fun and loved by so many people who knew him. Drag helped many people. He was a man that never changed. He was who he was just by himself. In his words “I’m just who I am.’

He is preceded in death by his parents. Two sister: Zola M. Jones, Johnsie L. Watkins Johnson. Three brothers: James M (Cooter) Watkins, Robert (Larry) Watkins, Harry Leon (Smooth) Watkins.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories a son Ronald Oneil Watkins Jr. of Rockingham NC. Three brothers: Oscar Watkins of Philadelphia, PA, Richard Homer Watkins of Monroe NC, and Bernard (Thomasine) Watkins of Norwod NC; one sister Denise Watkins of Norwood NC; and one foster sister Ms. Juanita Miller of Norwood NC; three uncles: Reuben (Martha) Gould of Albany NY, eli (Kathrien) Gould and Phillip Gould Sr., all of Mt. Gilead NC; A nephew that Ronald Help raise, Darris Watkins of San Diego CA, and a special nephew, Dorantay Watkins of Salisbury NC; special cousins: Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher (Peggy) Watkins or Norwood NC; a very special great-nieces Kailyn Sarai Watkins of San Diego CA; and special little buddym Ian Shaheed of Norwood NC. He also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends
