Roger Ritter

Roger Gerald Ritter 73 of Mt. Gilead died Sunday Morning, December 30, 2018.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Bethel Baptist Church in Mt. Gilead. Rev. Tony Hancox will officiate and burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday Evening at Edwards Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead.

Roger was born September 22, 1945 in Moore County to the late Woodrow Augusta and Pauline Thompson Ritter. He was a US Army Veteran of Vietnam and a purple heart recipient. He was a retiree of the NC Department of Public Safety, Southern Correctional Institute and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Brenda Robinson Ritter.

He is survived by his daughter Robin Ritter Haithcock of Mt. Gilead. His sister, Marie Ritter Lunsford (Larry) of Mt. Gilead. Two grandchildren, Erica Ritter Poole (Tim) of New London and Taylor Haithcock ( Ashley Whittington) of Mt. Gilead. Three great-grandchildren, Carly Eden Reynolds, Carden Brice Poole and Addison Diane Haithcock.
