Pearl Delilah Atkins Thompson, 91, of Mount Gilead, surrounded by her loving family, passed away Sunday evening, April 21, 2019 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Stoney Fork Baptist Church. Rev. Terry Burris will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pearl was born August 26, 1927 in Montgomery County, to the late Lexi Cola Atkins and Mary Belle Blake Atkins. She worked as a beautician. She was a member at Stoney Fork Baptist church, where she was active in the WMU and taught Sunday School. She was very active in her church and the community. She will be remembered for her caring nature and love of her family. She was an artisan with many talents, to include: quilting, sewing, cooking and painting.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jarrett Alexander Thompson; daughter, Sue Henley; son, Jerry Von Thompson; and grandson, Ben Thompson.
She is survived by her son, Dale Thompson (Sharon); daughter, Marie Hannah (Gene); daughter-in-law, Christine Thompson; grandchildren: Yvonne King (Billy), Jennifer Aminuddin (Norman), Jacquelyn Price (Richard), Jacob Thompson, Tommy Hannah (Danica), Jeff Henley (Cathy), Teona Powell (Pete), Matt Henley (Jill), Justin Thompson (Allison), and Cory Thompson (fiancé – Kristen Martinez); great-grandchildren: Elise, William, Andrew, Luke, Claire, Mia, Ethan, Caleb, Hannah, Clay, Ben, Jarrett, Caitlyn, Tyler (Micaela), Alston (Kyanna), Nathan, Lexi, Emma, Molly, Ella, Eli, and Ivy; great- great- grandchild, Trystan.
