Pate Vernon “Big Pate” Wilkerson Sr. 63 of Mint Hill died Thursday afternoon, June 6, 2019

A Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 Monday Evening, June 10, 2019 at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Pate was born March 29, 1956 in Cabarrus County to the late Carl and Eunice Allred Wilkerson. He was a graduate of Central Cabarrus High School where he was an avid Football and Track participant. He was a former employee of Fredrickson Motor Lines and owner of Ace Car Wash.

He is survived by his son Pate Wilkerson Jr. of Albemarle. Pate’s Mother Elizabeth Coley Brooks of Albemarle. Two brothers, Gilbert Wilkerson (Tammy) of Landis and Carl “Nookie” Wilkerson (Kay) of Concord. Nieces and Nephews and many beloved members of the Coley Family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Heather Elizabeth Wilkerson and a sister Barbara Wilkerson Earnhardt.
