Mike Starnes

Michael Joseph “Mike” Starnes 66 of Oakboro died Thursday Evening, August 2, 2018 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Rev. Jimmy Bartley and Rev. Larry Coble will officiate and interment will follow in Smith’s Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friend from 6:00 until 8:00 Saturday Evening at the funeral home.

Mike was born May 17, 1952 in Stanly County to the late Everett Davis and Eldora Thompson Starnes. He was a 1971 graduate of South Stanly High School and retired owner and operator of Mike’s Body Shop.

He is survived by his wife Linda Pearce-Starnes of the home. His Children, Eric Shane Starnes (Tina) of Waxhaw and Chad Michael Starnes of Charlotte and Karry Fisher of Mt. Pleasant. Brothers and Sisters, Bonnie Barbee (Ted) of Oakboro, Allen Starnes (Diane) of Albemarle, Joel Starnes of Aquadale, Zillian Bryant (Kenny) of Asheboro and Tammy Helms (Gary) of Oakboro.  Four Grandchildren, Eli Steele Starnes, Morgan-Grace Fisher, Sara Fisher and Gregory.

He was preceded in death by a sister Pearlie Starnes Drye.
