Mrs. Vick was one of my favorite teachers, and always made me feel special. I will miss running into her at the hospital & remain touched that she took the time to volunteer there. She lit up the space around her.

Dear Betsy and Nancy,

I am so sorry to hear that "Mimi" passed this week. It was my pleasure to take care of her last weekend at CMC. She really brightened my day. The day she transferred to hospice I couldn't stay in the room any longer. My eyes filled with tears and pain and I could not stay. Seeing her not being able to talk hurt. However, that smile she gave me brightened my day. I will truly miss her. I am sorry I didn't get a chance to make it to the funeral yesterday. I didn't know how to contact either of you and I wanted to say bye one last time.

I enjoyed meeting you both and your lovely families. Please know that your mother will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart; the both of you do as well.

When our daughter died a few years ago this scripture brought me comfort, 1 Corinthians 1:3,4- "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials, so that we many be able to comfort others." God knows our pain and help us. He too suffered pain and still does when his loyal servants pass away in death.

I am praying for you to have this peace.

I loved Mary Ella and always enjoyed seeing her and talking with her. I attended the hospice ladies lunches along with her and many others who had lost husbands to death. She was always so upbeat and loved sharing about her family and her travels with her friends.. she was beautiful inside and out. She always shared new pictures of grand babies.. she went to school with my aunt and loved talking about those times. Family, God bless you all and wrap you in love. Prayers for all of you.

I was so sad to read in today's SNAP that "Miss Skidmore" had passed away. I was in 4th grade at Aquadale Elementary in school year 1957-58. We had never had a "young" teacher before, and she was so beautiful! I loved her so much. On the last day of school when we lined up to go to the buses. Miss Skidmore hugged each one of us and kissed each one on the cheek. When I got home I told my mother that I would never wash that side of my face again because my beloved Miss Skidmore had kissed me there. I will never forget how special she was to me, and how much I loved her. My deepest condolences, Nancy, Betsey and her precious grands and great grand.

I am so sorry to hear of your great loss. Recently I lost my dear mother, and found
great comfort in the Holy Bible, like at Isaiah 25 verse 8 - "The Sovereign Lord will
swallow up death forever, and wipe away the tears from all faces." Also at
Revelation 21 verse 4, we find God's promise to remove both pain and death.

How blessed to have been chosen to be the daughters of such a beautiful and talented woman. I can't recall a single time of speaking your Mama when she didn't say some kind words. She was an inspiration and I am blessed for being able to call her my friend.
May God be with you all.

Nancy, Betsy and families,
May God continue to hold each of you in palm of His loving and comforting hands; May you feel His gentle presence in each sweet memory of your mom (Mimi); May you know the peace that He alone can give in the coming days and months; May you be comforted by the love and presence of friends in the days ahead as a reminder of His everlasting love for each of us....and lastly may you rest knowing that Mary Ella is reunited with your dad, her parents and safely resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Thanks for sharing HER with so many people for so many years.....she lived long past her "three score and ten". Love you all.
