Louise (Turner) Blalock

Mary Louise Turner Blalock, 95, of Norwood, passed away early Thursday morning, August 3, 2017 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM, Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood.   Rev. David Sutton will officiate and interment will follow in Norview Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home.

Louise was born May 20, 1922 in Stanly County to the late Ray Fletcher Turner and Annie Lou Kepley Turner.  She was a faithful member of Norwood First Presbyterian Church.  She was a retiree of Cassie Cotillion.  Louise loved to sew; she mended and made many garments for family and friends.   She also enjoyed gardening. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Blalock, Sr.;  son, Roy Blalock, Jr. and daughter, Judy Barrier; brother, George Turner; sisters, Vera Shores, Nancy Turner and Lille Mae Auten.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Taylor of Albemarle; grandchildren,  Randy Morton and wife, Angie of Albemarle, Jerri Lynn FitzGerald and husband, John of Charlotte and Robert Barrier of Norwood; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Albert Turner and wife, Brenda of Concord.
