Kenneth Bain Laton

Kenneth Bain Laton, 81, of Norwood passed away early Friday morning, August 25, 2017 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Monday August 28, 2017 at Centerview Baptist Church in Albemarle.  Rev. Todd Galloway and Dr. Kinney Wallace will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Sunday Evening at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.

Mr. Laton was born February 27, 1936 in Stanly County to the late Henry Wade and Bertha Florence Burris Laton.  Mr. Laton was a retired Sergeant First Class of The United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five  brothers, Henry Wade Laton, Jr., Robert Lee Laton, James Roy Laton, Donald Ray Laton and Everette Alton Laton; sister, Evelyn Hatley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Bonnie Lowder Laton of the home; sons, Kenneth “Kenny” Laton II and wife, Monica  of Albemarle and William W. Laton and wife, Debbie of Mt. Pleasant; Two Step-Grandchildren, Michaela and Stephen Boaz.

The family wishes to expresses their special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie for their loving care.
