Jimmy Helms Obituary

James Robert “Jimmy” Helms 83 of Norwood formerly of Concord died Tuesday Evening at his home.

A Private family service will be held.

Mr. Helms was born April 29, 1935 in Cabarrus County to the late Joe Thomas and Arey Rogers Helms. He was a retiree of Jordan Graphics of Charlotte and a member of St. Enoch’s Lutheran Church in Kannapolis.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Shirley Donaldson Helms of the home. Two sons, James Michael “Mike” Helms and wife Lynne and Robert “Kelly” Helms all of Concord. Two sisters Doris Helms Herlocker of Norwood and Beatrice “Boots” Helms Newton of Concord. Three granddaughters, Rebecca Lynn, Michelle and Amanda Helms.

He was preceded in death by a brother T. K. Helms and a sister Leona Catherine Helms.
