Harold Preston Green

Harold Preston Green, 76, of Albemarle, surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, May 27, 2017 at CHC Stanly.

A Memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, May 29, 2017, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev. Alan DiDio will officiate.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home.

Mr. Green was born February 12, 1941, to the late Edward Preston Green and Sarah Jane Furr Green.  He was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from the state of N.C. as a correctional officer at the Anson County prison. He loved fishing, traveling, archery, photography, and working with crafts.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Brenda Hurley Green of the home; one daughter, Tonya Green Lanier (John) of Norwood; grandchildren: Kristen Helms (Dustin) of Oakboro, Michael Curlee (Heidi) of Silver Springs, Nevada, and Brandon Lanier of Norwood. One sister,  Kathy Green Hurley (Wayne) of Albemarle, one brother, Wayne Green of Albemarle.  In addition, he has five great grandchildren: Brooke Gregory, Dylan Gregory, Gracie Curlee, Ezekiel Curlee, and Hayden Helms.

The family will be at the home of Tonya and John Lanier.
