Fred Stewart

Paul Fredrick “Fred” Stewart Sr. 84 of Norwood died Wednesday Evening, October 17, 2018 at Bethany Woods.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Memorial Baptist Church in Norwood. Dr. Josh Phillips and Rev. Marshall Honeycutt will officiate and Graveside services will follow at 2:00PM in Wingate Cemetery, Wingate, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday Evening at Edwards Funeral Home of Norwood.

Fred was born February 1, 1934 in Union County to the late William Henry and Emma Redfern Stewart. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of Memorial Baptist Church where he had served as Deacon and Church greeter for many years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Carolyn Adcock Stewart.

He is survived by his wife Jean Webb Stewart of the home. Two sons, Paul F. “Rick” Stewart (Ginny) of Norwood and Russell E. “Rusty” Stewart (Karen) of Wingate. One daughter, Karen S. Hargett (Jimmy) of Monroe. One step-son, Randy Webb (Charla) of Matthews. One step-daughter, Lynn W. Cochran of Lilesville. Eleven Grandchildren and Thirteen Great-Grandchildren.
