Earl Kearns

Earl Dean Kearns 84 of Mt. Gilead died Tuesday Morning, January 7, 2020 at his home.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dale Whittington will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Wednesday Evening at Edwards Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead.

Mr. Kearns was born November 3, 1934 in Montgomery County to the late Roland Rufus and Cora Greene Kearns. He was a veteran of the United States Army a member of Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church and a retiree of McRae Shoe Factory.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn Hudson Kearns of the home. Two children, Mickey Kearns of Wadeville and Sherry Kearns Coyle of Mt. Gilead. Four grandchildren, Kyanna Powell, Shannon Coyle, Brittney Kearns Sheffield and Devin Coyle. Two great-grandchildren, Trystan Powell and Miles Sheffield.
