Donna Gravens

Donna Renea Carpenter Gravens, 49, of Norwood, passed away August 4, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Buck Kiser will officiate and interment will follow at Norview Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ms. Gravens was born in Cabarrus County on May 6, 1970 to Willam Andrew Carpenter and Joyce Ann Jenkins Hambrick.

She is preceded in death by her sister Teresa Devalle; cousin Chris Coone; her Godmother Geneva Shoemaker, who raised her as a child; and grandparents: Marvin and Ola Mae Carpenter.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children: Brandon, Brooklyn, and Brett Graves of Norwood; ex-husband Nathan Graves; her father that raised  her: Jake Shoemaker; brothers and sisters: Larry Hudson, Debbie Morrow, Wendy Hill, Ricky Carpenter, Melissa Johnson, Angela Scoggins, Kristen Gray, and Ashley Coley; cousins that grew up as siblings: Tina Coone (Fred), Fred Carpenter, Doodle Shoemaker and his wife Terri; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
