Dennis Horace Carpenter

Dennis Horace Carpenter, 69, of Norwood passed away Monday morning, October 16, 2017 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Badin Baptist Church and interment will follow in Norview Gardens.   Rev. B. J. Bowers and Pastor Donnie Helms will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 6:00PM till 8:00PM Tuesday evening at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.

Dennis was born November 12, 1947 in Anson County to the late Gallagher and Gladys Gregory Carpenter.  He was a member of Norwood First Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Snap Carpenter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years,  Rachel Tyson Carpenter of the home; children, Dennis Carpenter, Jr. and wife, Lisa, Angie Bowers and husband, Houston;  Lynn Carpenter,  Bert Carpenter and wife, Angie all of Norwood. Eleven grandchildren, Garth, Luke, Cassidy & Lia Carpenter; B. J. Bowers and wife, Ashley, Michelle Bowers,  Dylan and Jordan Carpenter, Aylissa Bowers and husband, Peyton, Cody & Noah Carpenter; four great-grandchildren, Ben, Chloe, Isac and Jasper Bowers; sister, Joyce Cherry of Wadesboro.
