Darrell Isaac Plyler, 78, of Wadesboro passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Atrium Health in Pineville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Pastor Tim Williams and Pastor Duane Stegall will officiate and interment will follow at Norview Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, August 23, 2019 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
Mr. Plyler was born on February 22, 1941 in Chesterfield County, SC to the late Ike and Ethel Plyler. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and served his country in Vietnam. He retired from the United States Postal Service.
Darrell took pride in his military service, Stock car racing, clogging club, and antique tractor pulling. Most importantly, he took pride in his love for his wife of 23 years, Brenda.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Tyson Plyler of the home. Children: Charlotte Parker and husband Rusty of Valdosta, GA, Scott Plyler and wife Satrina of Valdosta, GA, Tammy Barton and husband Rob of Youngsville, NC, and Chris Dennis and wife Dana of Garner, NC; one sister: Lawanna Johnson of Jefferson, SC; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Scott O’Steen and family.
