I have not known Brenda for a long time. I met her at the Cancer Center where she did volunteer work. She was a true light! She reached out to others in such a calm, positive way. I believe She was an earth Angel.
My prayers are with Benard and the family at this time.

We are praying for Brenda's teammates ... the world of softball players both locally and across the state know her as an excellent competitor , encouraging team player, gracious opponent and tough pitcher to hit against (some of us know first hand!). As we think of Brenda whole & not in pain, not suffering in heaven, our tears and sadness come along side her teammates and family- we can not image. May your hope and joy of having known & played along side Brenda be deeper and wider than any pain of these days. We consider it a privilege to be a small part of her life; many are praying you all through.

I am thankful to have gotten to know Brenda and all of your family via my close friendship with Jan and Winn. There was one time I ran into Brenda at Myrtle Beach and again just earlier this year at Rocky River Springs Fish House at the Christian Tours presentation. At both instances, we took a "selfie" and would send to Jan. I still have both pictures. She was always friendly, wore a smile, and I am thankful to have met her. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family. I know a great void will be in your lives, and I pray God will comfort you now and in the days ahead.

Bernard, my heart is so sad after hearing of Brenda's passing. I guess it's been about 52 years since we began competing together in softball, basketball, and volleyball. Those were the days of having fun and making new friends. Brenda was indeed a long time friend and I shall cherish the memories we made. Prayers for you, Terry, Joy, Jan, and Lori and the extended family.

Dear Family,
Our hearts are absolutley crushed for you all. Brenda was an absolute light in this world. There is positively no doubt that her place in Heaven is beautifully adorned with Tarheel love. I like to think that she and Dean Smith are having some amazing talks right now. I don't know that there was ever a time that I saw Brenda that she didn't offer to help me in my classroom. She was an Angel! She worked so hard encouraging others in their fight against cancer. She was full of life. Each time, she would speak of Candace and how much she missed her. Again, I like to think they are having an all out ball together. Fortunately, we have a wonderful role model in Brenda K imrey. She spent her entire life serving others. She was devoted, dedicated, beautiful, and a wonderful handful of fun! I wish I could have spent more time with her. Each time we talked she also mentioned how much she enjoyed the tree work Stan had done for her and how she loves to see the deer where the area was cleaned and beautiful. Unfortunately for us on Earth, the void is huge! Her bubbly personality was infectious and it brightened my day. Almost every time we saw her, she was with her sweet, handsome husband and her precious friends, Shirley and Max. Our prayers are with each of you because the little time we spent with Brenda drew us closer to her and closer to the God she served. We can't imagine how close you all were. We will all see sweet Brenda again. She will be smiling, but something will be completely different, There will be no traces of worry, fear, or health tolls. She will be a new soul and we will be blessed again to be with her. We are very deeply sorry for your loss. As a teacher, I am in awe of her service to children. As a wife, I admire the time she spent with her precious husband. As a friend, I learn to spend as much time as you can with each other. And, as a human being, I learn that doing God's works on this Earth lasts far beyond the number of days we walk here. BRENDA'S IMPACT IS INFINITE! We give thanks to our God for her life and we will miss her something terrible. God Bless You All!
Love, Melissa, Stan Dean and Kids
