Bobby Gene Craven

Bobby Gene Craven, 85, of Mt. Gilead, passed away Saturday morning December 21, 2019 at Carolina Health Care System – Stanly.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 27, 2019 at 12:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, Rev. Cathy George will officiate.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Craven was born in Montgomery County, on July 2, 1934, to the late Lacy Franklin and Annie Bridges Craven. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a retired sheet metal technician. He loved tinkering with old cars and working in his shop with his hands. In his earlier years he loved to work in his garden.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Avis Nelson Craven.

He is survived by his children: Deborah Thompson and husband Yankee of Mt. Gilead, Lewis Craven and wife Teresa of Mt. Gilead, and Todd Craven of Salisbury; grandchildren: Mark Thompson, Terri Smith, Skylar Beaman, and Lindley Chisholm, and four great-grandchildren.
