Betty (Starling) Bruton

Betty Starling Bruton 86 of Mt. Gilead died Thursday Afternoon, August 2, 2018 at Sandy Ridge in Candor.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 5, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Gilead. Rev. Duane Partin and Rev. Hugh Cameron will officiate and interment will follow in Sharon Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.

Mrs. Bruton was born February 23, 1932 in Harnett County to the late Daniel Webster and Romaine Birt Starling. She was a retiree of Montgomery County Schools and a member of First United Methodist Church in Mt. Gilead.

She was preceded in death by her husband David Wilson Bruton.

She is survived by her sons Tommy Bruton and wife Mandy and Danny Bruton and wife Gail all of Mt. Gilead. Four Grandchildren, Daniel Bruton (Caly), Chase Bruton (Cassie), Thomas Bruton and Kendall Bruton. Three Great-Grandchildren, Isabella, Kai and Parker Bruton. One brother, Web Starling of Florida.
