Arphard Lawrence Dennison

Arphard Lawrence "Larry" Dennison, 88, of Norwood, surrounded by his loving family passed away Tuesday afternoon June 19, 2018 at CMC Northeast Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday June 24, 2018, at Randall United Methodist Church. Rev. Caitlyn McAlhany will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Dennison was born January 9, 1930, to the late Arphard and Maypel Dennison.  He attended Randall United Methodist Church. Larry loved to go hunting and fishing and proudly served in the U.S. Army and National Guard before beginning his career as a Canteen Officer with the Veterans Administration. He and his wife, Ruth, were born and raised in Weston, West Virginia and were married for 64 years. 

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one son, Lawrence Wade Dennison; brother, James Harvey Dennison; sister, Ronda Hope Herron Skidmore; and son-in-law, Darrell Earl Dean.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Butcher Dennison and daughters, Karen Cox and husband David of Norwood and Diana Jean Dean of Indian Trail. In addition, there is one grandson, Christopher Brett Cox (Cheryl) and great grandson, Christopher Austin Cox; two sisters, Shirley Mae Theis (Steve) and Cherita Starr Weaver and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Joann Whitley for all her help and friendship.
