Helen Meacham

Helen Hearne Meacham 87 of Mt. Gilead died Sunday Afternoon, April 21, 2019 at Spring Arbor.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 26, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Gilead. Rev. Cathy George will officiate and interment will follow in Sharon Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Helen was born September 12, 1931 in Montgomery County to the late Joe and Johnsie Pinion Hearne. She was a 1950 Graduate of Mt. Gilead and retired owner and operator of Helen’s Beauty Shop in Mt. Gilead. She was a lifelong active member of First Presbyterian Church where she had served as Elder, Sunday School teacher and the Women of the Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Burton Meacham and a brother J.C. Hearne Jr.

She is survived by her son Terry Bruce Meacham and his wife Kristina of Ft. Mill, S.C. One brother George Hearne and his wife Becky of Mt. Gilead and one sister Blanche Hearne Stephenson of Raleigh. Two grandsons Matthew and Andrew Meacham.
