Cecile Minnie (Craven) Bruton

Cecile Minnie Craven Bruton, 94, of Mt. Gilead, passed away Friday night May 10, 2019 at Spring Arbor in Albemarle.

Funeral services will be held Saturday May 18, 2019 at 2:00 PM, at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Gilead.  Rev. Duane Partin will officiate and interment will follow at Sharon Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.

Mrs. Bruton was born March 7, 1925, to the late Artis Banks and Minnie Lee Warner Craven, in Richmond County.  She was a member at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Gilead, where she was a Sunday School teacher for the kindergarten class for 25 years.  She and her husband, George were owners of Bruton Insurance Agency.  She was a wonderful gardener, homemaker, and past member of the Chi Sigma Club.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, George Bruton; brothers, Dolan, Harold, and Farrell Craven, and sister, Mildred Hall.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol Franks (Mark) of Mt. Gilead, and Janice Bruton of Vero Beach, Fla.; sister, Marie Robinson of Candor and brother Evon Craven of Ellerbe; nieces and nephews.
