Cheryl Thomas Hall, 79, of Mount Gilead died Thursday Afternoon, March 21, 2024.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Hamer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev Glenn Hancock will officiate.
Cheryl was born June 12, 1944 in Anson County to the late George Hearne Thomas and Faye Nelson Thomas. She was a graduate of UNC Greensboro and Wingate University and spent her career as an elementary teacher at Mt. Gilead Elementary School. She was a longtime member of Melton’s Grove United Methodist Church.She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and had served on the Mount Gilead Museum Committee for many years. She enjoyed being a part of The Friends of the Town Creek Indian Mound. She and Cecil enjoyed learning about Native American history and artifacts in our region, and sharing their knowledge with others. She felt passionately about enriching the sense of community in Mount Gilead.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Julian Cecil Hall.
She is survived by “The daughters of my heart” Cindy Hall Owens (Curtis) of Dallas, NC and Kelly Hall Lockamy (Tommy) of Locust, NC. Five grandchildren, Catherine Owens, Megan Singh (Manraj), Sullivan Owens (Evan Lawson), Bryce and Ella Lockamy. One great-grandchild Priya Singh.
Memorials may be made to Melton’s Grove United Methodist Church.
