Mr. Huneycutt was born July 6, 1925 in Stanly county.  He was a son of the late John Calvin and Lilly Mae Hinson Huneycutt.  He was a retiree of the North Carolina Department of Transportation and a member of Green Memorial United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Mildred Poplin Huneycutt of the home. One son Tim Huneycutt and wife Irene of Norwood, one daughter Melanie McEwan of Norwood, one sister Julia Carpenter and husband Clay Tom of Norwood, two brother Ralph Huneycutt and wife Frances of Charleston, SC and Ted Huneycutt and wife Betsy of Spartanburg, SC. Three grandchildren, Derreck Huneycutt, Devon and Savanna McEwan.
