Mr. Bruton was born August 28, 1929 in Montgomery County. He was a son of the late Clay Livingston and Ella Harris Bruton. He was retired owner of George Bruton Insurance Agency, a US Navy Veteran, a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of Blackmer Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Cecile Craven Bruton of the home. Two Daughters, Carol Bruton Franks and husband Mark of Charlotte and Janice Bruton Battaglini and husband Jim of Indialantic, FL. One Brother David Bruton and wife Betty of Mt. Gilead and One Sister Mary Ella Cameron and husband Hugh of Apex.

He was preceded in death by a sister Rachel Phelps.
