Mrs. Blalock was born December 22, 1929 in Stanly County.  She was a daughter of the late Freel and Connie Swaringen Goodman and was a homemaker.  She was an active member of Cottonville Baptist Church where she had served as Church custodian and librarian for more than 60 years. She had also served as a Sunday School Teacher, WMU Leader, Acteens and Choir member.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rembert H. Blalock.

She is survived by her son Terry Blalock and wife Becky Blalock of Norwood. Two grandsons, Mark Blalock and Eric Blalock and wife Shanna both of Norwood. Five Great-Grandchildren, Joseph, Taylor, Conner, Emily and Hunter Blalock.
