Mr. Brookshire was born May 27, 1932 in Montgomery County.  He was a son of the late Joe and Jessie Brewer Brookshire.  He was a member of Little River United Methodist Church and was a textile retiree.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Lefler Brookshire, a brother Witt Brookshire and three sisters Josephine Stewart, Janice VunCannon, and Mary Dennis.

He is survived by his son Kenneth Brookshire and wife Bonnie of Mt. Gilead. One Sister, Edith East of Mt. Gilead and One Brother, Bill Brookshire of Elerbee. One Grandson, Matthew Brookshire of Mt. Gilead.
