Jerry was born March 20, 1942 in Stanly County.  He was a son of the late Clyde Davis Almond Sr. and Mina Lee Kimery Almond.  He was the former President and Owner of Stanly Fixtures.  He was a member of Aquadale Fire Department where he had served as Chief for many years and was an original EMT with the department and was currently a member of their board of directors. He was a member of the Norwood ABC Board and a former member of the Board of Director of Uwharrie Capital and Stanly Community College, The Lions Club and The Jaycees.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially attending and supporting his grandchildren in all the sports activities and events.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years Sue Poplin Almond of the home. His son Jerry "Bo" Almond Jr and wife Amy of Norwood. His daughter Monda Almond Russell and husband James of Albemarle. Four brothers Keith Almond and wife Vickie, Clyde "Shorty" Almond Jr. and wife Sam and Darrell Almond and wife Judy all of Norwood, Butch Almond and wife Teresa of Albemarle.  Six grandchildren Chase Eudy, Sawyer Russell, Davis Almond, Clancy Russell, Steely Russell and Eli Almond. When not at the funeral home the family will meet at Bo and Amy's home at 8037 Davis Road, Norwood, NC
