Funeral services for Ruth Thompson Maner will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, January 14, 2010 in the Chapel of Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.  Rev. Nathan W. fox will officiate and burial will follow in Norwood Cemetery. The family will receive friend for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Maner was born March 1, 1917 in Anson County.  She was a daughter of the late Ruben Fletcher and Ida Fay Gaddy Thompson.  She was a homemaker and a member of Polkton Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Eugene Maner Sr., her son Robert Eugene Maner Jr., and her daughter Betty Jean Maner Lefler. 
 

She is survived by her granddaughter, Aundrea Lefler Ivey and husband Clayton of Midland, Great-Grandchildren, Kevin Bowers and wife Amanda of Norwood and Emily Bowers of Albemarle, and one Great-Great Granddaughter, Kirsten Bowers of Norwood. Her sister, Katherine Edwards of Myrtle Beach, SC.  Her special Brother and Sister-in-law Graham and Lucille Maner of Norwood.
