William 'Bill' Kendall Mabry

William Kendall “Bill” Mabry 92 of Norwood died Tuesday Afternoon, January 16, 2018.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 21, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Norwood. Rev. Bill Roberts and Rev. Bob Cauble will officiate and interment will follow in Norview Gardens with Full Military Rites by the Stanly County DAV and Masonic Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.

Bill was born December 14, 1925 in Mecklenburg County to the late John Clifford and Mary Louise Kendall Mabry. He was a 1944 Graduate of Norwood High School and a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Norwood where he was currently the oldest member. Bill loved his country and served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Army in the Korean War and retired from the North  Carolina Air National Guard.  Bill was a 33rd degree Master Mason and a member of the Charlotte Scottish Rite Bodies. He retired with many years of service with the United States Postal Service.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Doris Whitley Mabry of the home. Two daughters, Lisa Davis and husband Terry and Kenda Mabry of Norwood. One son Christopher Mabry of Albemarle. Six Grandchildren, John William Greenlee, Lindsay and Will Davis, Ashley Mabry, Dakota and Macy Barfield. Four Great-Grandchildren, Jordan, Grayson, Adeline and Micah.

He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Jo Harrington.
