Roy James Lee

Roy James Lee 81 of Oakboro died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Rev. Jeff Springer will officiate with Military Honors following by the Stanly County DAV. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Lee was born August 20, 1936 in Richmond County to the late Roy and Pearlie Mae Britt Lee. He was a 1955 Graduate of Ansonville High School and a Veteran of the US Army. He was a retired Locomotive Engineer with CSX Railroad and a member of Big Lick Baptist Church. Following his retirement he enjoyed Cattle Farming and Gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Earlene Tucker Lee of the home. Two Sons, Ronald Lee and wife Janet of Troy and Dale Lee and wife Cathy of Oakboro. One Daughter, Brenda Lee of Oakboro. Four Grandchildren, Michael Morrison,Tiffany Jackson, Travis Lee, Daniel Lee and wife Whitney. One Great-Grandson, Mason Jackson. Two Brothers, Samuel Lee and wife Barbara of New Salem and Clifton Lee and wife Brenda of Mooresville. One Sister, Jane Lee Kendall of Norwood.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, Roy James Lee Jr. His Step-Mother, Louise Kimrey Lee and his Brothers and Sisters, Harold, Hubert, Arthur, Malloy, Dean, Vergie and Nola.
