Naomi (Whitley) Diggs

Naomi Whitley Diggs, 83, of Norwood passed away Monday evening, July 17, 2017 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, July 21, 2017 at Norwood Church of the Nazarene.  Rev. Tom Rodriguez and Rev. Carroll Moffitt will officiate and interment will follow in Norview Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Diggs was born June 25, 1934 in Stanly County to the late Columbus Alexander and Myrtle Mae Harris Whitley.  She was a 1952 graduate of Norwood High School and graduate of Kings Business School.  She was an Executive Secretary for Wiscasset Mills for 45 years.  Naomi was a lifelong member of Norwood Church of the Nazarene where she directed the choir for over 40 years. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Allen Diggs, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Max Allen Diggs Jr. (Helen) of Boone and daughter, Kimberly Diggs Galloway(John) of Norwood; sister, Hilda Whitley Farmer (Dwight) of Norwood; three grandchildren, Nichole Wallace (Brad), Lauren Brenneman(Daniel),  Matthew Diggs (Emily) and Jason Galloway; four great-grandchildren, Grace, Addison, Braxton and Mackenzie.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Trinity Place for the loving care of their mother and grandmother.
