Nancy (Smith) Kimrey

Nancy Smith Kimrey, 78, of Norwood, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at CHS-Stanly.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM, Monday, April 10, 2017 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood.  Dr. Kinney Wallace will officiate and interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park in Albemarle.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Kimrey was born July 30, 1938 in Stanly County to the late James David and Virginia Williford Smith.  She was a 1957 graduate of Albemarle High School and was a retired Nursing Assistant from Stanly Memorial Hospital.  She was a member of Porter Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Melvin Kimrey.

She is survived by her children, Joel David Kimrey of Oakboro and Melinda Kimrey Thompson of Ridgecrest; aunts, Patsy Turbeville of Albemarle and Jeanette Kirk of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
