Marlene (Duke) Spivey

Ruth Marlene Spivey, 77, of Norwood passed away Sunday evening August 6, 2017 at Bethany Woods.

A graveside service will be held at 4:30 Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Norwood Cemetery, Mr.  Michael Almond and Rev.  Jesse Dennis will officiate. 

Marlene was born July 4, 1940 in Stanly County to the late William Paul and Ruth Virginia Whitley Duke.  She was a graduate of Norwood High School and member of Centerview Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Scott and Bobby Spivey and daughter, Rebecca Spivey Burns; brother, Lowell Duke.

She is survived by sons, Brian Spivey of Norwood and Randy Spivey of Albemarle; brothers, Larry Duke(Nancy) and Tony Duke all of Albemarle; sister, Glenda Burleson(Junior) of Morehead City, NC; grandchildren, Felicia, Heather, David, Stacy, Christopher, Landon, Taylor, Haylee and Cameron; great-great grandchild, Jace.
