Lucille (Baucom) Howell

Lucille Baucom Howell, 84, of Polkton, surrounded by her loving family, passed away Friday afternoon October 27, 2017 at Anson Health and Rehabilitation.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00PM, Sunday October 29, 2017, at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood, NC. Her grandson, Adam Faircloth will officiate and interment will follow at Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Howell was born April 13, 1933, to the late Willie Shelvy Baucom and Glennie Deese Baucom. She was a member at Red Hill Baptist Church.  She was a strong Christian lady who will be remembered for her cooking, baking and helping in the community with the volunteer fire department.  She was a devoted mother and loved taking care of children.

In addition to her parents she is predeceased by a daughter, Glenda Cheryl Howell, brothers: Artast Baucom, Erick Baucom, Roy Baucom, and sisters: Edna Thomas, Inza Nash, May Randall, Perean Williams, Sylvia Little, and Gayle Crump.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert Lee Howell.  Daughters: Sheila H. Huneycutt and husband Eddie of Norwood, Sandra H. Faircloth of Ansonville, and Shelby H. Martin and husband Tim of Ansonville.  Grandchildren: Adam Michael Faircloth of Pennsylvania, Dalton Lee Hill, Ava Loren Hill, and Rhylan Macie Martin, all of Ansonville.  She is also survived by her brother Rogers Baucom and wife Frances of Wadesboro; sisters, Betty Rogers and husband Bob of Stanfield, and Darlene Threatt of Polkton.
