Lizzie Mae Turner

Lizzie Mae Lowder Turner, 87, of Norwood, passed away Thursday September 28, 2017 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 30, 2017 at 2:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jennifer Orr and Rev. Bob Cauble will officiate and burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Ms. Turner was born on May 19, 1930 in Stanly County to the late Offie and Stella Brown Lowder. She worked for many years with Security Bank and retired from North Carolina Telephone Company in Norwood. She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and was active in the Tabernacle United Methodist Women as long as her health allowed.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband of 50 years Willie Ray Turner,  her sister Mary Agnes Poplin and one nephew Terry Morgan.

She is survived by her brother Carlie Lowder of Norwood. Nieces and nephews: Byron Harward (Sherry), Anita Harward, Pat Eudy (Mike), Brenda Ingold (Bobby), Dianne Smith (Ralph), and Elaine Vick (Fred).
